The two stars teamed up for a theatrical performance at the Grammy Awards earlier this year and Elton admits he's 'smitten' with the 'Paparazzi' singer.

He says, 'She and I come from exactly the same place... I love her and I love her ability to write.'

And the Brit tells Entertainment Weekly magazine his pal Lady Gaga is about to become an even bigger star when her new album is released next year.

He adds, "It's f**king amazing. 'Born This Way,' which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive.' This is the new 'I Will Survive'... This is the new gay anthem."

Lady Gaga Joins Yoko Ono for Concert Honoring John Lennon

Lady Gaga is still in the forefront of everybody's social calendar. She joined other luminaries for Yoko Ono's concert honoring John Lennon. As usual, she was a fashionplate, wearing a see-through cat suit encrusted with crystals and  addressed her recent role in the fight to get "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repealed by singing "Everybody's talking about that defense bill, don't ask don't tell, every person's sanctuary, gays in the military."

Lady Gaga, Sonic Youth, RZA Join Yoko Ono for Concerts Honoring John Lennon
Rolling Stone Music:

Lady Gaga, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, Perry Farrell and the RZA were among the artists who joined Yoko Ono at her all-star 'We Are Plastic Ono Band' concerts at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre this weekend.

The concerts were part of a weeklong celebration leading up to what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday, on October 9th. Gaga performed with the Plastic Ono Band for three songs: She and Ono did a duet of Ono's 'The Sun is Down!' off Ono's recent album, Between My Head and the Sky, then the 1992 track 'It's Been Very Hard,' with Gaga rocking out on piano.

Gaga and the rest of the night's participants — including Sean Lennon, Harper Simon, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mike Watt and guitarist Nils Cline — joined together for a sing-along of the Lennon classic 'Give Peace a Chance.'

Gaga, who wore a see-through cat suit encrusted with crystals, updated the lyrics of "Give Peace a Chance" when it was her turn to solo, addressing her recent role in the fight to get "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repealed by singing "Everybody's talking about that defense bill, don't ask don't tell, every person's sanctuary, gays in the military."

Other highlights from the Orpheum shows: RZA's take on Ono's "Greenfield Morning I Pushed an Empty Baby Carriage All Over the City" and Iggy Pop's high-powered performance.

Giorgio Armani's Partnership With Lady Gaga a Win/Win

Lady Gaga is a fashion figure in her own world and teaming up with Georgio Armani has got to be a win/win for them both. Giorgio Armani's Partnership With Lady Gives Designer Creative Edge
WSJ.com:

The Italian fashion designer best known for the power suits that defined 1980s corporate America took an unusual turn of style this year when he dressed Lady Gaga in a crystal-encrusted silver hoop dress with orbiting rings for the Grammy Awards. The bondage-style black leather costumes in the American performer's racy 'Alejandro' video were also Mr. Armani's, as was a black rubberized dress with spikes sticking out from the breast the platinum-haired singer donned at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Mr. Armani will soon work on costumes for Lady Gaga's concert in Italy in December.

The 76-year-old designer's multimillion-dollar partnership with the 24-year-old pop idol has put Mr. Armani "in a new creative spotlight—individuality, edge, futuristic style," says retail-brand consultant Tom Julian. It is also an effort by one of fashion's oldest figures to rejuvenate his €1.5 billion business.

Since revolutionizing wardrobes 30 years ago by taking the lining out of blazers—to make them less stiff and more form-fitting—Mr. Armani has expanded his company into a sprawling empire with six separate adult clothing lines spanning from the exclusive haute couture Privé collection to mass-market A/X Armani Exchange fashion.

For years now, however, fashion critics haven't looked to Mr. Armani for new trends. The daughters of the women who climbed the corporate ladder a generation ago in Armani now gravitate toward younger designers such as Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang. It remains to be seen whether his Emporio Armani women's fashion show, scheduled for Saturday, will be influenced by Lady Gaga, as his men's collection was in June.
